Samade on the Beach
Samade on the Beach consists of 12 Polynesian style bungalows with fans, air conditioning, CD/Stereo and TV, kitchenette with coffee/tea making facilities and a bar fridge.
The Samade staff is fantastic, the accommodations are comfortable and cozy, and the lagoon is stunning. In one word Samade is "paradise" on earth.
The bungalows all have Queen size beds and a view of the lagoon from the covered deck.
There is a beautiful beach with excellent swimming in the lagoon. The whole experience of Samade is a dream.
Samade is known for one of the best beach/lagoon locations on Aitutaki, and the restaurant/bar has one of the greatest atmospheres, it is relaxed, unobtrusive, yet very welcoming.
The Tuesday night island buffet dinner and show is not to be missed.
Fresh seafood is the star of the menu with Tuna and Mahi Mahi (Dolphin fish) being amongst the favorites.
One island dish not to miss is raw fish marinated in lime juice and mixed with coconut cream. Another specialty of the island is the fresh Crayfish.
A short stroll across the white sand lawn is the famous Samade Restaurant where both locals and visitors can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Like most tropical islands, the warm temperature found in the Cook Islands, coupled with the shallow lagoon make any water activities in Aitutaki more than just pleasant.
The waters are crystal clear within the lagoon and because there are a number of active raui (marine reserves) in place, you have the opportunity of seeing some really diverse forms of marine life when it comes to snorkeling and diving.
The coral reefs make for excellent exploration points and you can choose between the shallow parts of the lagoon, which the smaller fish use as a nursery, through to the deeper spots.
