With the highest standards, every 'Small Luxury Hotel' is unique in its own right, a quality that comes as much from its location, facilities and cuisine, as it does from the people who greet you when you arrive.

Every one of the 300 member hotels is committed to  excellence.

One of the most important factors that distinguishes 'Small Luxury Hotels' is what is best described as an experience turned into an extraordinary experience.

To be able to deliver true quality in accommodation, quality that blends with the physical beauty and unspoiled culture that is the Cook Islands is outstanding.

The Pacific Resort Aitutaki, a botique beach resort, is nestled into the fringe of seventeen acres of tropical forest right on a spectacular white sand beach

Aitutaki is 145 miles north of Rarotonga and is an island atoll. 45 km around the outer reef, the lagoon is quite expansive... 6 km north to south and 8 km east to west. The average depth of the lagoon is 12 feet and is filled with brilliant coral and marine life.

Crystal lagoon at Pacific Resort Aitutaki one of the Cook Islands Hotels Pacific Resort Aitutaki is a secret world of tropical beauty .

Crystal clear water, magnificent palm trees and a white sand beach that stretches over half a kilometer.

A place where time is measured by the sun and moon – not clocks and watches.

Like Rarotonga, Aitutaki has a large range of activities, but has a very different ambience from its larger neighbour. It's lush tropical gardens and pristine beaches are very special, as are the friendly people.

The Aitutaki lagoon is arguably one of the most beautiful in the world and abounds with marine life to delight the snorkeller, particularly the iridescent giant clam, the shallow lagoon makes snorkelling easy.

The most popular swimming, snorkelling and picnic spots are on the small islets to the southeast, each of which has a legend associated with it, such as One Foot Island.

Sailing, diving and fishing (flycasters and light tackle anglers) are all available. For those wanting to explore the island, there is a thirty-minute trek to the highest point which rewards walkers with excellent views.

South Pacific Hotels Bedroom Pacific Resort Aitutaki, Cook Islands There is a long history behind Aitutaki and relics of it can still be found everywhere, with solid stone halfbuildings dotted throughout the island.

The island was settled many centuries ago by the explorer Ru, who brought his brothers and their wives and 10 maidens and began the initial development of the island.

Often used as a stopover, Aitutaki was always on the route of the great flying boats, the Sunderlands.
